L'Ecole
du Parc was established in the Summer of 2002 by
professional parents in Clapham and by an experienced
team of Early Years teachers and nursery nurses.
The school currently welcomes about forty children.
Its objective is to remain a small entity in order to
retain a relaxed family atmosphere.
L'Ecole du Parc is regulated by OFSTED,the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and local authorities. It is also in contact with the French Inspector of Education in London (Inspecteur de l'Education Nationale en poste à Londres) in view of becoming a certified provider of the French Educational curriculum (homologation).
The teaching team is made up of qualified and
dynamic staff members, who take care to provide a varied
and stimulating educational programme which is tailored
to individual needs. Teachers are French-speaking but
most speak English. The teaching team is keen to include
educational approaches which complement the French programme.
The team takes an interest, for example, in the role
given in the English educational approach to art, theatre
and how these can develop self-confidence.
Parents' Association
L' Ecole du Parc is fortunate to have an active Parents'
Association which works closely with the administration
on a variety of issues, such as a Parents' Newsletter
("La Feuille"), fundraising activities, parents'
night out, school trips, school meals. Parents are invited
to join at the beginning of each school year. Meetings
are held approximately once a term. The agendas and
minutes of each meeting are circulated to all parents
of the school.
