Nutrition

This is particularly important for children under the age of 5 whose growth is rapid and whose nutritional needs are very specific.
Every morning for snack, we serve each child a piece of fresh seasonal fruit or a fruit compote, and a drink (milk or water). We aim to offer organic food wherever possible.
For the lunchtime, we have appointed a school caterer, Little Tums for all the children in our school. Little Tums matches our precise requirements, in particular with dishes that are organic, simple and tasty, and enable the children to discover different flavours. In collaboration with Little Tums, we have devised a customised menu for l’Ecole du Parc, which runs on a 3-week rotation with a wide variety of dishes. For pudding, as per our request, children are only offered fresh fruit or yoghurt, and a piece of sponge cake once a week. As part of our green school initiative, we take part in Paul and Linda McCartney’s “Meat-Free Mondays”.
We have looked carefully at the way our food caterer is dealing with food allergies. We provide the caterer with a clear and detailed breakdown of children’s allergies/food requirements. Any specific lunch requirements will then be prepared accordingly, in a separate area of their commercial kitchens, labelled clearly and delivered in individual sealed containers. As much as possible, the caterer ensures that every customised “allergy” lunch looks the same as the regular menus so that children do not feel they are missing out.
Children are encouraged to drink throughout the day. A personal fresh water bottle is freely accessible throughout the school day. As part of our green school initiative, we have decided to use BPA-free stainless steel water bottles for all of the children.
Food Hygiene rules are strictly followed by all members of our team. One member of each class have obtained a certificate in food handling.
