NUTRITION
ORGANIC FOOD
This is particularly important for children under the age of 5 who are growing up fast and have very specific nutritional needs.
Every morning for snack, we serve each child a piece of fresh seasonal fruit or a fruit compote, and a drink (milk or water). We aim to offer organic food wherever possible.
Children are encouraged to drink throughout the day. A personal fresh water bottle is freely accessible throughout the school day. As part of our green school initiative, we have decided to use BPA-free stainless steel water bottles for all of the children.
Food Hygiene rules are strictly followed by all members of our team. At least one member of each class has obtained a certificate in food handling
Healthy, nutritious and balanced meals
We offer a personalised menu based on organic products.
OUR MENUS
We carried out extensive research to find a caterer who was able to meet our expectations: tasty and balanced meals where the children could identify and enjoy the ingredients on their plates. We appointed nursery school caterer Little Tums for all the children in our school.
Little Tums matches our precise requirements, in particular with dishes that are organic, simple and tasty, and enable the children to discover different flavours. In collaboration with Little Tums, we have devised a customised menu for l’Ecole du Parc, which runs on a 3-week rotation with a wide variety of dishes. For pudding, as per our request, children are offered fresh fruit or yoghurt, and a piece of sponge cake once a week.
We have looked carefully at the way our food caterer is dealing with food allergies. We provide the caterer with a clear and detailed breakdown of children’s allergies/food requirements.
Any specific lunch requirements will then be prepared accordingly, in a separate area of their commercial kitchens, labelled clearly and delivered in individual sealed containers. As much as possible, the caterer ensures that every customised “allergy” lunch looks the same as the regular menus so that children do not feel they are missing out.
Example of menu:
- Chicken chasseur with new potatoes, followed by a fresh fruit salad.
- Creamy coconut, prawn and lemongrass curry served with mixed basmati rice followed by sponge cake.
- Turkey pasta Bolognese served with grated cheese followed by natural yoghurt.
